Making full use of Web 3.0 capabilities, Solcial aims to offer their users the best possible experience in social media by building a hub for content sharing, in a censorship-free environment. They hope to restore social media to what made it fun in the beginning, which are things like being able to share cool content, consistency and clarity on community rules, and most importantly, user control and user rewards. Solcial also values your privacy and gives you full control of your data. They will not keep, store, or sell any of your data.
Building a fast and scalable on-chain social network only became possible with high-throughput blockchains that started appearing about a year ago, and Solana has emerged as a front-runner in this area. By building Solcial on a P2P layer secured by the Solana blockchain, content is by design unable to be censored. If you post something, theoretically it can remain hosted forever and cannot be deleted or canceled by any other party or authority.
This then puts into question the fail-proof mechanisms in place, so as to ensure that Solcial will not be a breeding ground for illegal content. According to Solcial, they do have policies that will prevent illegal and egregious content and we do look forward to seeing this in action before they launch. In this aspect, they remain steadfast in their ambition, which is to ensure that no one will be allowed to force Solcial into censoring someone else’s content.
Solcial is targeting a launch for Q4 2021 (or Q1 2022), with a fair launch allowing its loyal community to earn the network token for free through an innovative farming program. As Solcial is focusing on building mode right now, we can expect to hear more from them when they are closer to the launch date.
